USGenWeb Campaign 2013

Welcome to my Campaign Site

My name is Joy Fisher. I want to represent the Northwest-Plains CCs for the next two years.

I was on the KY mailing list back in 1996 when Jeff Murphy introduced his Muhlenberg County web site. Within days, I created the Harrison County, KY web site based on Jeff's template. A few weeks later, I created the Jessamine County, KY web site. I have been a part of USGenWeb ever since.

I have been representing y'all at national conferences since 2006:

  • Boston FGS Conference 2006: 4 classes taught - all having to do with using USGenWeb; helped maintain the USGenWeb booth
  • Family History Expo 2007, St. George, UT - helped maintain the USGenWeb booth
  • Family History Expo 2008, St. George, UT - helped maintain the USGenWeb booth
  • Southern Califronia Genealogy Jamboree 2008-2010 3 classes taught and maintained the USGenWeb booth
  • NGS Conference Salt Lake City 2010 - one class taught and maintained booth
  • NGS Conference Charleston, SC 2011 - one class taught and maintained booth
  • Family History Day at the California State Archives 2011 -2012 classes and panel discussion
  • TXGenWeb Annual Conference, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013 - one class taught each year
  • FGS Conference 2012, Birmingham, AL maintained the USGenWeb booth
  • Family History Expo 2013 Mesa, AZ and St. George, UT, one class taught at each and maintained booth

I regularly teach genealogy classes at the Los Angeles Family History Library and have since 2010. I meet with new missionaries who are working in the library, provide them with USGenWeb brochures, and make sure they know that USGenWeb is a valuable resource to use when they help patrons.

I have submitted over 42,000 files and hundreds of photos and census images to USGenWeb.
