Alexander Bruynooghe (sanderbruynooghe@lycos.com) Thu May 15 16:53:49 2003
I don't know where to start in this search. The person I'm looking for is Charles C. LECOMPTE, he was born in Lawrence county probably in Pierce city on December 10th 1890 . Died in Pierce city in 1972. What I want to know is what did he do for a living? Did he join the army and came to Europe during World war I ? could that be ? This is the first real link in search of my family history. My mother told me some things about Charles (maybe this American fellow is the person I'm looking for, i don't know), for instance that he met my g grandmother and that they had (a) (2?)child(ren) and one of them is my late grandfather and that my grandfather got the maiden name of his mother. she also told me Charles had to go back overseas (to the States probably but we don't know for sure) but she did not know where or when or how or why he left, but I think he must have been in Europe during the war. And something tells me that this is the person I'm looking for. I would appreciate your help very much. Thanks !

I am Looking for any information on the Odou family of St. Onge. Emma Marie Johnson married Emile M. Odou about 1880-81. The Odou family owned a ranch in St. Onge from around 1880 until about 1910. They had six children, Lena Louise who graduated from (Spearfish Normal School in 1902), Emile, Eugene, William and Florentine. Can find no information on the sixth child. Emile senior decided to go to the California gold rush around the turn of the century and never returned. Emma Odou stayed on working the ranch with her sons Emile Jr., William and daughter Florentine. In 1906 Emma moved with Florentine to live in Spearfish in 1906. Emma was active in the community and church groups there. Emma died in March 25, 1909 and Florentine moved away to live with her older sister Lena. The children sold the ranch sometime after 1910 I believe. If anyone has any information relating to the Odou family or St. Onge at this time I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.
