MARRIED
LUSE-KIRCKHOFF
In Deadwood, at the residence of the bride's parents,
Wednesday, December 16, 1891, Alvin W. Luse of Nemo, S. D.,
and Miss Ludie Kirckhoff. Rev. A. S. McConnell, pastor of
the Congregational church, officiating.
The
ceremony was performed at noon in the presence of a large
number of friends, who were not satisfied with their mere
presence. But substantiated their friendship by numerous
costly and useful presents to both bride and groom. Miss
Ludie was assisted through the trying ordeal by her intimate
friend Miss Mollie Smith, while Daniel McDaniel of Lead
performed a like service for the groom. Upon conclusion of
the ceremony, bride, groom, and friends sat down to an
elegant repast, during which mirth and jollity reigned
supreme. About 2 p. m. the newly married couple left by
private conveyance for the cosy (sic) home prepared by the
groom for his bride at Nemo, where they will hereafter
reside. The good wishes and congratulations of many friends
follow them."
