dlhill Tues April 6, 1999 CALVIN SMITH KILLED BY INDIANS in 1869 possibly in Yankton County after raping an Indian girl. His remains were sent home to Missouri from "Decota Territory" via "Sue City."Any information regarding this incident, or suggestions on how to track it down would be greatly appreciated.

Glen Smith Wed March 17, 1999 I'm looking for information on Ernest Lewis SMITH who born pril 20, 1894 or 95 in Buffalo Center, Winnebago County, Iowa. He was married in Yankton or Yankton County before coming to Rapid City and remarried. I have been told that he had a daughter from this first marriage. His father was Daniel Lewis Smith and his mother was Addie May SIMPSON.

He was married to MINNIE MARIE SADENWASSER [ SODENWASSER] c.1892 but I don't know in what state. They had several children born in Yankton, SD before they moved to Oregon about 1915. ELMER b. 1895, GEORGE b. 1898, ADA b. 1903, HARVEY b. 1906, LUCILE b. 1911. MINNIE immigrated into the US from Germany with herdfamily in 1883. It is unknown if they came as a family to Yankton.

Colleen Stokes Sun Jun 6 1998  I am researching the SPINK families of New York and Michigan. I have information that says a Solomon Lewis Spink died in Yankton on Sept 22, 1881 and is buried in City Cemetery. They lived in Harrold, South Dakota, and Stephen lived in Yankton and died there in 1940. Am looking for descendants of this family. Blanche's Children were Keith and Dick ROKKE. Anyone know them?
